History

Built for East Africa. Driven by you.

Our journey began with a simple but powerful idea: Kenya needed a reliable way to move fuel from the coast to the interior. In 1973, the first pipeline was commissioned, a 450-kilometre line from Mombasa to Nairobi. It was a bold investment in the nation's future.

Over the decades, we expanded. We built more lines, more depots, more capacity. We added fibre optic cables to connect businesses. We opened a world-class training institute. We grew into a company that millions of Kenyans rely on – often without even knowing it.

Today, we stand as:

  • 1,342 kilometres of pipeline, connecting Mombasa to the hinterland
  • 11 pumping stations ensuring smooth, uninterrupted flow
  • 884,000 cubic metres of storage capacity
  • 14 billion litres delivered annually
  • A publicly listed company on the Nairobi Securities Exchange

But our story isn't just about numbers. It's about the businesses we have helped grow, the families we have kept warm and the economy we have helped power.

Honouring the past. Building the future.

As we look back on 50 years of service, we are filled with gratitude for the trust Kenyans have placed in us, for the dedication of our people and for the opportunity to serve.

But we are not resting on our laurels. The future demands more: more efficiency, more innovation, more sustainability. That's why we're investing in:

  • Modernising our network to serve you better
  • Expanding our capacity to meet growing demand
  • Embracing green energy solutions for a sustainable tomorrow
  • Developing our people to lead the next generation

The next 50 years will be even more impactful. And we are excited to have you with us.
