Mr. Samson Kipkemboi Burgei is a public sector finance professional with more than three decades of experience in public financial management, central banking, treasury operations, policy advisory and strategic communications. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi and has undertaken trainings in trustee development, enterprise risk management, currency and vault management, central banking communication, monetary policy, and Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism regulatory frameworks.
Mr. Burgei currently serves as Technical Advisor, Treasury Cash Management, at the National Treasury, where he advises on implementation of the Treasury Single Account system, cash flow forecasting, government liquidity management, intersection between exchequer operations, domestic borrowing requirements and capacity building for National Treasury staff. Before joining the National Treasury, he held senior roles at the Central Bank of Kenya, including Head of Currency Services and Custodian, Manager of Vault Services and Co-Custodian, Head of Communications Division, and Personal Assistant to the Governor.
Mr. Burgei has also held governance and community leadership roles, including Chair of Dorcas Aid Kenya, Alternate to the Principal Secretary, National Treasury, on the Board of the Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service, Trustee of the Central Bank of Kenya Pension Fund, and Board Member of Dorcas Aid International.
